Medical Laboratory Service

Medical Diagnostic Laboratory of Department of Medical Laboratory Science, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya has been established at the Community Service Centre, near the Bank of Ceylon, Gatambe (adjacent to the SPC Pharmacy, Gatambe). It was opened recently (29th August 2022) with the intention of providing a reliable, and efficient laboratory service for a reasonable price, to the out-patients and delivering a better practical exposure to the students of the department as well. It is a well- equipped laboratory with a well experienced staff. All the tests will be performed by graduates of B.Sc.(hons) in Medical Laboratory Science.

The laboratory service provides the following essential and routine laboratory;

Blood glucose (FBS, RBS, PPBS, OGTT)
Lipid profile (Total cholesterol, Triglyceride, LDL-c, HDL-c)
Alanine aminotransferase (ALT)
Aspartate aminotransferase (AST)
Serum Creatinine
Serum Urea
Urine analysis (UFR)
ESR

Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm (Samples collect until 2.00pm)
Saturday from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm (Samples collect until 12.00 noon)
