Inauguration Ceremony of the Third Batch of the Diploma in Movement Science and Injury prevention in Sports

The inauguration ceremony of the third batch of the Diploma in Movement Science and Injury Prevention in Sports, offered by the Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS), University of Peradeniya, was held on 18th January 2025 at the faculty premises.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Prof. Lalani Yatawara, Dean of FAHS; Prof. B.M.H.S.K. Banneheka, Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences; Heads of other departments; Dr. Upul Madahapola, Consultant Physician in Sports and Exercise Medicine; Chief Physiotherapists from the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital and Sirimavo Bandaranaike Specialised Children's Hospital, Peradeniya; and the staff of the Department of Physiotherapy.

The event marked the beginning of another successful academic journey for aspiring professionals and undergraduates in the field of exercise science and sports. The diploma program is designed to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and practical skills to succeed in the fields of movement sciences and injury prevention in sports.

The course is conducted in English over a one-year duration, divided into two semesters.
