Peradeniya University International Research Sessions (iPURSE) 2017

Peradeniya University International Research Sessions (iPURSE) 2017 is one of the most prestigious events of the university. Disseminating world-class research is of utmost importance and this is a major event which enables achievement of that goal. This esteemed conference facilitates both local and international researchers to elucidate their knowledge and experiences in latest advances of multidisciplinary research and applications, on a single arena.

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences which is celebrating a decade of excellence this year, is honoured for being entrusted with the responsibility to host iPURSE 2017 in concurrence with the 75^th anniversary of the University of Peradeniya.


The Chief Guest, Chancellor of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, Deshabandu Professor Tuley De Silva, Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya Professor K. M. Di Silva, the Vice Chancellor Professor Upul B. Disanayake, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor R. L. Wijeyeweera, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Professor D. B. M. Wickramaratne, Deans of other faculties, invited guests and the presenters graced the inaugural ceremony.

This 21^st annual research congress bearing the motto “Research and Innovations for Global challenges” capturing the collaborative spirit of the conference, held on 24^th November, 2017, was both scientific and outreaching. Through a variety of state-of-the-art sessions, technical papers encompassing ten themes; Climate, Environment & Earth Sciences, Economics & Management, Education, Engineering & Built environment, Food, Nutrition & Livestock, Health Sciences, Information technology, Mathematics & Statistics, Natural Sciences and Humanities, were presented as oral (213) and posters (195), splitting into 10 parallel sessions concluding iPURSE 2017 successfully.
