03^rd Peradeniya University Physiotherapy Congress 2018
25^th - 27^th May, 2018

• The Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya had organized the 03^rd Peradeniya University Physiotherapy congress from 25^th - 27^th May 2018 at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya.

  After the great success of the first two congresses in 2016 and 2017,the 03^rd Peradeniya University Physiotherapy congress with the theme of “Exploring the modern advancement in physiotherapy and rehabilitation” offered an excellent opportunity for physiotherapy students and professionals to update their knowledge to be in par with the modern era.

  Ceremonial inauguration of the congress was held on 25^th May, 2018 with the presence of Prof. U. B. Dissanayake - Vice Chancellor of University of Peradeniya as the chief guest. Deputy Vice chancellor, Deans of the faculties, and medical, paramedical professionals from various hospital and academic staff of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences. A Symposium on “Evidence Based physiotherapy Practice” and a workshop on “Stroke Rehabilitation” were held in the congress.

  Prof. Barbara Billek-Sawhney - Professor of Physiotherapy, Graduate School of Physical Therapy, Slippery Rock University, USA took part as the keynote speaker and as the resource person for the workshop on “Stroke rehabilitation”

  Prof. Narasimman Swaminathan - Vice Principal, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Sri Ramachandra Medical University - India conducted a symposium on “Evidence Based physiotherapy Practice” during the event.

  More than 100 participants including students from various universities and physiotherapists from various parts of the country participated in the event.
