Initiation of nEUROcare, co-financed by the Erasmus + Capacity Building in Higher Education program
The University of Peradeniya is part of an international consortium
under an Erasmus +
project. The project, nEUROcare – a European initiative for capacity
building to meet the
challenges of caring for people with neurodegenerative disorders in Sri
Lanka is co-financed
by the Erasmus + Capacity Building in Higher Education program
(618596-EPP-1-2020-1-
SE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP). The aim of this project is to improve the clinical
provision of care
for neurodegenerative diseases. The main outcome of the project is to
develop eight courses
that represent a total of 30 credits in accordance with the Sri Lanka
Qualification Framework
(SLQF) system related to neurodegenerative care.
The European partners of the project are Högskolan Kristianstad, Sweden,
Triskelion,
Norway, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, University of Tartu, Estonia,
and Neapolis
University Pafos, Cyprus. University of Colombo, University of
Peradeniya, University of
Ruhuna, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University are the Sri
Lankan partners of the
project.
During 07 th to 11 th of February 2022, the first workshop of the
project was successfully
conducted at the Waters Edge, Battaramulla . This was led by Professor
Martin Persson, the
Project Manager, Kristianstad University (Sweden)..
