Faculty of Allied Health Sciences 10^th Anniversary

The 10^th Anniversary celebration of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences was held on 05th of April 2017 at the faculty premise. The ceremony began with opening of the new administrative building of the faculty and Professor Upul B. Dissanayake the Vice Chancellor, the chief guest at the event unveiled the name board of the new building "University of Peradeniya, Diamond Jubilee Building".


Prof. C D A Goonasekera, The founder Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, was the guest of honor and delivered the 10^th anniversary oration. Prof. C D A Goonasekera, The founder Dean of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, all founder heads of the departments; Prof D M Dissanayake, Professor Badra Hewavithana, Prof M D Lamawansa, Dr T N C Aturaliya, and Dr. H J Suraweera were felicitated highlighting the valuable guidance and dedicated service given to implement allied health science degree programmes and also for the unceasing support showered during last 10 years.


The Initial overall programme coordinators, Prof . P A J Perera, Prof M Uduppille and Prof G Hittinayake were also felicitated considering the grate contribution given towards to establish the faculty. The generosity and cooperation extended towards Allied health science students to provide clinical training by initial hospital coordinators of respective degree programmes of the teaching hospital Kurunegala was also highlighted and appreciated.


Prof. R.L. Wijeyeweera, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, of the University of Peradeniya, Deans of the other faculties, Directors of postgraduate institutions of the University of Peradeniya, the Registrar, the Acting Bursar, former Heads of the departments and those who support to establish the allied health science degree programmes were also among the invitees.
