Coordinator’s message

Dear Students,

It is with great pleasure that I would like to welcome you to the English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU), Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya. I hope my message will give you a comprehensive understanding of our role at ELTU. The ELTU serves to develop and enhance students’ English language proficiency, both in general usage and in academic disciplines.
The ELTU is affiliated with the Department of English Language Teaching, University of Peradeniya. Our unit offers courses including the Intensive Course in English and English Language for Allied Health Sciences (EL). The curriculum of the ELTU has been designed to improve the English language skills of the students in a way that creates an interesting and exciting learning experience for them. In addition to the main courses offered by the unit, students benefit from a wide array of interesting learning opportunities such as participating in various events, competitions, interactive workshops, social events, and student-led activities. The unit is in a good position to further enhance cross-collaboration efforts with other departments in order to provide quality language teaching incorporating various disciplines.
