Peradeniya University International Nursing Research Sessions (iPUNRSE) – 2022
Researchers who wish to publish their research at iPUNRSE 2022 must submit abstracts
under the given conference themes in accordance with the following guidelines.
General Guidelines
- Authors have the option of submitting their work for either oral or poster
presentations. Oral and
poster presentations will be held in parallel sessions under the conference themes
- At the initial submission, authors should upload abstracts through the iPUNRSE 2022
conference
website as soft copies in Microsoft Word format (.doc /.docx) without authors' names and
their
affiliations for the purpose of blind reviewing. (If author details are included in the
abstract,
the abstracts will not be reviewed, and authors will be requested to resubmit according
to the
instructions). Use the given abstract template.
- During the final submission process of the accepted abstracts (in Camera-Ready
versions), authors
must add their names and affiliations to the accepted abstracts.
- Authors are required to submit a copy of ethical clearance certificate with the
accepted
abstracts for the studies that require ethical clearance.
- Undergraduate and postgraduate students must seek permission from their supervisors to
include their
names to the author list and ensure that their supervisors have reviewed the abstract.
- Research work presented or published elsewhere in the same or a similar form will not be
considered
for presentation at iPUNRSE 2022.
- Authors should submit abstracts under the given conference themes and they can select
conference
theme from the online submission form. Additionally, authors need to indicate the
selected theme at
the end of the abstract.
- The Editorial Board reserves the right to change the theme of the abstract selected by
the authors
to a more relevant one, if necessary.
- All accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings.
- All authors should sign the Author Declaration Form. Submitting author is responsible
for obtaining
signatures from all authors. E-signatures will be accepted (Do not forget to include the
title of
the abstract in the Author Declaration Form).
- Please submit author declaration forms through the online submission form.
- One author will be permitted to submit a MAXIMUM of three (03) abstracts ONLY.
Guidelines for preparing abstracts
- Abstracts should be short, clear, concise, and coherent.
- Structure of the abstract: Authors should submit a structured abstract
with the
sub-headings of "Background, Aim, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion
and
Keywords". Follow the given abstract template.
- Title of the abstract: Should be short, specific, and reflect the
study carried
out.
- Word limit: The maximum word limit is 300 words not including
the title and
keywords. Do not exceed the word limit. Word count needs to be included at
the end of
the abstract.
- Language: Abstracts should be written in British English using MS Word
2007 or
advanced version. All digital files should carry the [.doc] or [.docx] file extensions.
Mac users
need to export their [. pages] files to either format above. Any other file types will
NOT be
accepted.
- space: Abstracts must be 1.5 spaced
- size: A4
- Margins 1.5 inches (left) and 1 inch (top, right and bottom)
- Font Times New Roman
- Font size: Title 14 in title case and bold. Sub-headings
12 and
bold. Text 12
- Keywords: maximum of 5 keywords in alphabetical order
- Abbreviations: Should be cited in full at the first occurrence, except
for standard
abbreviations.
- Standard abbreviations of SI units should be used
- The abstract should not include citations, figures, tables, and references. Please check
the
spelling and grammar of the abstract very carefully.
Peer review process
- Two experts will review each abstract. A double-blind review process will be followed.
- All abstracts will be checked for plagiarism.
- All authors will inform the acceptance/rejection of the abstracts by email (Please
include a correct
email address/es in the online submission form).
- The editorial board reserves the final decision of acceptance/rejection of the abstracts
and
authors presentation preferences (Oral/Poster).
Submission of the revised/final versions
- Authors require to revise abstracts according to the comments given by the
reviewers/editor/editorial board.
- All accepted abstracts need to be submitted in a Camera-Ready version (The template for
the
Camera-Ready version will be provided with the decision on abstract/reviewers comments).
Registration
- After an abstract is accepted, it is obligatory for the primary author or the
co-author/s to
present the paper at the conference. At least one of the authors
(presenting author)
must register for the conference.
- Only registered participants will receive a conference proceeding and a certificate of
attendance.
Full paper publication
- Authors are provided with the option of publishing full papers in the Sri Lanka Journal
of Health
Sciences, the official journal of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of
Peradeniya, Sri
Lanka.
- The authors who wish to publish their full papers are requested to submit their
manuscript according
to the author guideline of the above journal (Journal link) within one month of the
acceptance of
the abstract.
