Master of Science in Nursing MSc(N)
Key Features
- Master of Science in Nursing Degree program aims to prepare locally and internationally recognized nursing graduates who can actively contribute to advanced nursing, clinical practice, healthcare through education and research that enhance the health and wellbeing of the society.
- MSc(N) program consists of 45 credits of course work and 15 credits of research work, equivalent to SLQF Level 10.
- Program Duration: 02 years (3 Semesters of course work and one semester of research)
- Fallback option of Master of Nursing (MN) equivalent to SLQF level 09
Entry Qualification
The candidate must possess a B.Sc in Nursing degree (SLQF level 6) from a recognized university.
Fee Structure
Total Course Fee: 330,000 LKR
(Including course fee, Application fee -2000 LKR and registration fee-
14,000 LKR)
Candidates will be selected through an interview.
Closing date for application: 28 th February 2022
Programme Outcomes
Graduates of the MSc in Nursing Degree program should be able to;
- Deliver nursing care based on the integration of nursing science, related sciences and humanities, current evidence, clinical experience, and ethical principles.
- Provide leadership in practice and education to improve healthcare quality, safety, and patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate high standards of ethical and professional behavior in patient care.
- Use health informatics to support lifelong learning, ensure safe practice environments, optimize healthcare outcomes and promote patient self-management.
- Participate in improvement of policy and regulatory processes to enhance the healthcare delivery system, the health of the public, and the profession of nursing.
- Collaborate to improve systems of care, and to optimize patient and population health outcomes.
- Demonstrate comprehensive professional nursing practice dedicated to lifelong scholarly collaboration and development for best practice.
