Establishing Collaborations with Choonhae College of Health Sciences, Ulsan City, South Korea and Implementation of Staff & Student Exchange Programme.

• Dr. Rasika Illeperuma, Senior Lecturer, Department of Medical Laboratory Science visited Prof. Hee Jin Kim, the President of the Choonghae College of Health Sciences, Ulsan, South Korea on invitation to discuss regarding the implementation of the student staff exchange programme between two universities. Dr. Illeperuma being the founder and the coordinator of this MOU was invited to visit Choonhae College of Health Sciences to discuss the future endeavours as well as to deliver a lecture on the topic “Health System of Sri Lanka”. President and the staff of the Choonghae College of Health Sciences warmly welcomed Dr. Illeperuma and had lengthy discussions on how to implement the staff & student exchange programme. As an initiative, ten nursing students from Choonghae College of Health Sciences will visit Sri Lanka (in July 2019) with few staff members to participate for community based activities together with nursing students of the UOP. From Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, two Nursing Department staff members will be invited to the Choonghae College of Health Sciences, for a training programme. This project is supported by a KOICA grant received for the Nursing Department of the Choonghae College of Health Sciences, Ulsan, S. Korea.
