The Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences organized the 04th Peradeniya University Physiotherapy Congress - 2022 from 16th – 19th December 2022 at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya. Theme of the congress was “Global Trends and advancements in Physiotherapy in the Modern Era”.

The first Diploma programme by the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences was ceremonially inaugurated on 15th October 2022. The chief gust of the event, General Daya Rathnayake – the former Army Commander of Sri Lankan army addressed the gathering via Zoom technology.

The Students' society of physiotherapy organized a Physical Fitness Screening Programme for the athletes of University of Peradeniya in collaboration with the Department of Physiotherapy to mark the World Physiotherapy Day. The program was conducted on 08th September 2022 at University Gymnasium.

The Department of Physiotherapy successfully conducted a workshop on ‘Prevention of Sports Injuries’ for sports coaches and physical education teachers in Kandy District on 17th August 2022 at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.

The ceremonial inauguration of the first ever MSc in Physiotherapy programme in Sri Lanka was held on 29th January 2022 at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya.

Alumni Association of the Department of Physiotherapy organized a workshop on “Resistance Band Training” for physiotherapy students in collaboration with the Department of Physiotherapy and Textrip (Pvt) Ltd Company.
