  • Award for the Best Paper at the 60th Annual Sessions of Galle Medical Education (2001) - for "The use of saliva to detect filaria-specific IgG4 antibody in bancroftian filariasis".

  • Selected for Final Round of Post Graduate Publication Award (2001) - "Quantitative aspects of the transmission dynamics of bancroftian filariasis under different densities of microfilaraemia of Wuchereria bancrofti in Matara, Sri Lanka" was selected by Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science for an oral presentation at the final round of selection for the above award
