Opening ceremony of Rajya Osusala in University premises

• The ceremonial opening of the University Rajya Osusala was held on 1st of September 2018. The honourable minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr. Rajitha Senaratna, Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Chairman of State Pharmaceutical Corporation, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences were the chief guests of this important milestone of the faculty.
  The University Rajya Osusala is a joint collaborative project between the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya and the State Pharmaceutical Corporation of Sri Lanka. This collaborative project aims to provide state of art community pharmacy services to the community. In addition, it is unique in a way that the community pharmacy will provide teaching, training, and research for the students of the University of Peradeniya. This pharmacy will also cater to provide much needed counselling services on medication uses and also plan to establish a regional pharmacovigilance centre. The students and the staff of the University of Peradeniya are eligible to get a 5%discount on the total cost of prescription.
  This long-term dream of university pharmacy came into existence largely by the comprehensive financial and logistic support provided by the state pharmaceutical corporation
