Ms S. Sathya, won the first place in SLAYS Three Minute Thesis Competition




  • Ms. S. Sathya, former Research Assistant (former B.Pharm student; 2010/11 batch), Natural Products Project won the first place in SLAYS Three Minute Thesis Competition (SLAYS 3MT) Organized by the Sri Lankan Academy of Young Scientists (SLAYS). 3MT ® is a professional and highly engaging international research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland. More than 70 competitors from various scientific disciplines participated in this competition. She won the first place out of the top ten presentations at the SLAYS International Conference & 3MT Grand Finale held on 16 th October 2019 at Taj Samudra Hotel. The title of her presentation was “Sri Lankan Spices for Alzheimer’s”. Ms. S. Sathya Graduated from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Peradeniya with a B.Pharm degree (Second Class upper division) and completed her M.Phil degree under the supervision of Prof. Lalith Jayasinghe (NIFS) and Dr. Nilupa Amarasinghe (Faculty of Allied Health Science, University of Peradeniya) (Miss. S. Sathya obtained her M.Phil. degree from the Postgraduate Institute of Science, University of Peradeniya). Her research was funded by the NSF Grant RG/2016/HS/04. She is currently working as Lecturer (probationary) in Pharmacy, Unit of Allied Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna. Department of Pharmacy congratulates Ms. S.
