  • Curriculum Review :  "B.Pharm Curriculum Review" workshop was conducted by the Department of Pharmacy at the Faculty of AHS on 05th June 2014. The outcome of the workshop was excellent. We, as the staff of University of Peradeniya are proud to be part of this national task which was completed successfully. It was evident from the evaluation sheet submitted by the participants. The team work and contributions of resource persons have played an important aspect to shape the B.Pharm curriculum with international standard.

  • Eminent Professors in related to Field of Pharmacy were participated as resource personnel; Professor. Shalini Sri Ranganathan, Prof. R. Shanthini and Prof. R.O. Thattil The Resource persons for this workshop were from both State funded and Private Universities where Pharmacy degree program is conducted in Sri Lanka; University of Colombo, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, University of Ruhuna, University of Jaffna and Kothalawala Defense University (KDU) . Resource personnel from University of Peradeniya include; Module coordinators of the subjects in the B.Pharm curriculum, Subject experts, Visiting lecturers and the academic, academic support staff of the Department of Pharmacy, FAHS

  • Representatives of field expertise from Private and cooperative sectors were participated as resource personnel to review certain modules of the curriculum such as Pharmaceutical Management and Administration, Hospital Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Marketing Management.

  • After the introductory session ,the Resource personnel were divided into group discussion: Pharmacology, Pharmacy practice, Social and Administrative Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Pharmacognosy. Representatives were assigned with their field expertise for each group and their valuable input was presented by each appointed group leaders at the end of the workshop sessions and this was noted for the Revised B.Pharm Curriculum.

University of Sydney, Australia), Mrs. Anna Drew (Research assistant, prince of Wales clinical school, south wales) amd Ms.Sue Ayes (clinical pharmacist, university of Leed, UK) visited the department of pharmacy for a period of 4 days from 17 th to 20 thof June 2013     View images
