Qualitative Methods in Health Care Research Workshop 7 th April 2018

Synopsis:

Traditionally, qualitative methods were used in the social sciences. Today, these methods are being increasingly employed in a variety of other disciplines including law, management, education, medicine etc. Thus, it is essential for a researcher to understand problems and situations where different methods-qualitative or quantitative, should be applied to conduct research.

This one day workshop aims to give participants an understanding of the characteristics of qualitative methods, familiarisation with the process of conducting a qualitative research study and an exposure to analysis and interpretation of data in qualitative research.

Apart from lectures, participants will be involve in practical group exercise on various components of the qualitative research process under the guidance of the workshop facilitator. We encourage you to identify clinical problems and research ideas relevant to your practice and bring them to the workshop for discussion.

The participants expected to learn:
- various methods of qualitative research;
- the process of conducting a qualitative research study
- the important things that need to be considered while doing qualitative research
